The combat system for Chainsaw Hybrid is designed to be visceral and fast. One of the most important aspects of this spec is the distinction between Ground and Aerial variants. Many of your moves change properties depending on whether you are standing on solid ground or in mid-air.
Rush Attack (M1 / LMB)
Your bread-and-butter combo tool. It performs a sequence of strikes that ends with a heavy blow, knocking enemies back. Note that it does not ragdoll the opponent, allowing you to keep the pressure on.
Rip N' Tear (E)
A highly versatile move. On the ground, it acts as a two-part dash attack with chainsaw swings. If activated in mid-air, you leap higher, form a chainsaw from your leg, and swoop down diagonally.
Wild Crash (R)
Your primary crowd-control and finisher tool. You impale a target and grind them on the floor before slamming them. The aerial variant allows you to hook a target with a chain, pull them in, and slam them down.
Violent Carve (T)
A great spacing tool. On the ground, you stomp to knock targets off balance, followed by a carving slice. In mid-air, you skip the stomp and go straight for the carve, making it faster.
Cheap Shot (Y)
A defensive counter. If timed correctly, you dodge to the side, causing the attacker to stumble, and follow up with a low-damage, dirty kick to the legs.
Rampage (G)
A gap-closer. You dash forward and, upon contact, perform a relentless flurry of chainsaw slashes. This is your best move for punishing enemies trying to run away.
Cull (H)
A heavy area-of-effect move. You slam your chainsaws into the ground, ensnaring the area with chains and pulling enemies into the air before crashing them back down.
Devil Chain (V)
A utility move. You disconnect your chains to hook a target. Tapping the key pulls the enemy toward you, while holding it slams them into the ground and ragdolls them.
